the purpose of our respect for the three jewels is not to make others respect themselves, but to say that you will naturally feel that others respect yourself. for example, some monks in our temples work very hard, diligently, practice and protect the three jewels, so others will be very respectful. this mage is working in obscurity every day. he is also very awesome, as a volunteer, and he will be respectful to everything he sees, hears, and sees.
if we do not have respect for the three jewels, then you will feel that i am the most laborious in the monastic community. in the group of lay buddhists, you will think that i have done the most, and you all should respect me, so that will be troublesome. on the other hand, if we respect the three jewels and have respect for the public, we will naturally respect ourselves and respect ourselves. respect and respect are like this, such cause, such cause, such cause, such result.
first of all, after we cultivate respect, responsibility and confidence in the three jewels, it is naturally easier to do good friends. because buddha can't speak; dharma can't speak, and it can't speak either. after all, monks are far away and rarely can be together. after all, they are a few or individual monks you come into contact with or meet.
you, fellow good friends, classmates, and fellow visitors, are often together. if we cultivate this kind of respect and pious heart towards these buddhas, dharmas, and these monks, we will have a kind of strength in our hearts and this kind of merit, and this kind of merit is a kind of merit that we have achieved.
after we have this kind of merit, we will use it in the state of people and things. in other words, you regard others and the other party as buddhas, dharmas, and monks. it is amazing to treat what others say as dharma, and to the other party, they also regard him as a very high and pure state.

in other words, many of our problems arise because of the lack of solid foundation and the lack of true cultivation of respect for the three jewels, which leads to all problems. today, our first class and first lecture, and then we talk about respecting the three jewels and taking refuge, which is also a very special cause and condition.
