There are essential differences in bodhicitta and its functions. The essential differences are secular bodhicitta and ultimate bodhicitta.Then the worldly bodhicitta is the result of the mind being developed due to the circumstances, and the ultimate bodhicitta is the result of the mind being developed due to the rationality.

There are two main types of intentions for things, one is the fate of the person and the other is the fate of the law.If a person is responsible for the suffering of sentient beings, he will have the intention to become a Buddha to save sentient beings; if a Bodhisattva sees the suffering of sentient beings, he will have the intention to become a Buddha to save sentient beings;The second is the law of fate. When the holy teachings are declining, the power of Buddhism has gradually decreased, and fewer people can preach the Dharma, so the Bodhisattva has made a wish.One is that one cannot bear the suffering of sentient beings and the other is that one does not want the decline of the holy teachings. Then this is the intention of the matter.

The second is to develop aspiration from reason and true nature: knowing that I am an unrealized Buddha, and all Buddhas are an already formed Buddha and develop aspiration.We will start with the intention of appearance, but you must attribute the circumstances to the mind and nature. Later, we will talk about the decline of bodhicitta, and we will talk about the intention of being aware of the situation, no matter what your reason is, I will hold the Dharma and continue the Buddha's wisdom life, but your Dharma abbot is in the external form, and you will be easily injured, because the appearance is easy to destroy, especially in the Dharma-Ending Age.

This is a kind of compassionate wish to engage in the form of mind, but the intention to reach the ultimate truth is the level of wisdom.So our intentions are two different. One is the issue of vows. Do you have to do something if you make a vow? The second is the issue of wisdom. How do you resolve obstacles in your heart? Faced with so many tests of karma, does the Bodhisattva have any skills to digest it? It is best to transform it into your motivation after digestion, and turn the adverse conditions into the path of Bodhi. This is the ultimate bodhicitta.

Therefore, there are two causes and conditions for the initiation of bodhicitta. The first is the question of your vows. Do you have the ability to bear, do you have ideals and ambitions. The second is your level of wisdom. Therefore, bodhicitta is the combination of your vows and wisdom, and the combination of vows and observation. This is essentially speaking.
