it feels so good to feel at ease

buddhism is both reborn and heavy in death. life is inseparable from life and death. the process of life and death is completed through countless present moments. because the infinite past takes the present as its destination, and the endless future begins with the present. the length of life lies in the breath. after exhaling, no one can guarantee whether the next breath can still be inhaled.

in the three realms, i don’t know how many kalpas i have had in the cycle of reincarnation to have today’s precious human body. therefore, the buddha said: “those who obtain the human body are like the earth on the claws; those who lose the human body are like the earth on the earth.”

《the lotus sutra records a story like this: there was an elder who was rich in the world and had three smart sons. the elder was filled with joy in possessing these three treasures.

one day, the elder went out to visit his friends, and the guests and hosts were having fun. when he returned home, he recalled the joy of having sex with his friends, and did not return home until the sun was in short supply. in the vast twilight, i saw a bright red fireball hanging behind my house, jumping with the flashing and blurry flames. the elder looked closely and was scared and sweated. it turned out that the beautiful flame was not the afterglow of the sun, but the hideous claws of the flames. the elder calmed down and thought: oops! my three children were playing in the room, not knowing that the impermanence of the world was invading.

in the crisis, the wise elder came up with a solution and asked the servant to prepare a deer cart filled with novel and interesting children's play. he also drove the deer cart to the door and ordered the servant to shaking the bell to attract the attention of his sons and quickly escape from the fire house. the youngest son, who was intoxicated by the playful play, suddenly heard a pleasant ringtone and looked up: a gentle crunchy deer carrying a car full of toys, so he ran out of the house with a blazing fire, jumped onto the deer cart, and started playing happily.

the fire continued to spread, and the two sons in the inner room still did not escape from the fire cave. the elder hurriedly asked someone to prepare another sheep cart. many dazzling treasures were placed on the sheep cart, which were rarer than children's play on the deer cart. the second son, who was playing in the house, saw the rare treasures on the sheep cart, and then looked at the things he was playing with. it was like a world of difference. so he left the fire house, climbed onto the sheep cart, and focused on enjoying the dazzling treasures.

when the elder saw that his second son had finally left the house in the fire safely, he was about to breathe a sigh of relief when he suddenly thought that his eldest son was still stuck in the terrifying fire house. he anxiously asked the servant to prepare a ox cart. the seven glass treasures piled up like mountains on the cart, which were dazzling. the eldest son in the house saw qibao on the green ox cart, walked out of the house happily, jumped onto the ox cart, and counted carefully.

under the painstaking arrangement of the elder, the three sons escaped the devour of the fire without any injuries. each of them played in their own car, and were completely indifferent to the dangers around them. the elder finally asked the servant to bring his most beloved big white ox cart, and put the sandalwood trees and mani beads that are hard to see on earth on the big white ox cart to divert the preferences of his sons. when the sons saw the rare sacred danmoni, they indeed abandoned the treasures on deer carts, sheep carts, and ox carts, and jumped onto the peerless and incomparable big white ox cart.

our lives are full of ignorance, greed and desire, anger, and ignorant evil views, as if balls of flames are forcing our body and mind to fry our bodies and minds. this world is like a burning house. therefore, buddhism describes the world as a "fire house" and also describes "the three realms are like a fire house". and sentient beings are like the three sons who are trapped in the fire cave without knowing themselves. before the impermanence of life and death, they are still indulged in dangerous games: greed, anger, and ignorance, which makes us unable to see the terrible purgatory behind them, and make ourselves children tattooed by love, lust, ignorance.

there is a saying in buddhism: "if you want to enter the buddhist path, you must first use your desire to hook it." in order to let us escape from the fire house, the teacher uses his compassionate wisdom and convenience to use the reading club as the deer cart, the joy class as the sheep cart, the fellow practitioner class as the green ox cart, and the durgatory class as the big white ox cart to attract us, so that we can find our pure and uncomplicated sincerity until we become saints and wise men.
