佛陀十种名号 原来别有深意！

十方三世一切诸佛，由于应化不同，各有别号，或取因言“弥勒佛”，或取果言“阿弥陀佛”，或取性言“毗卢遮那佛”，取相言“卢舍那佛”，取行言“释迦牟尼佛”，取愿言“阿閦佛”、药师佛，佛佛各异。然而诸佛具足一切智慧、德行，无有差别，诚所谓“佛佛道同”，故有十种尊号，为诸佛的通号，称为“如来十号”或“十种通号”。

“十号”的意义列举如下：

一、如来：指佛陀乘如实之道而来，即谓“如来”;也可译为“如去”，即乘真如之道而去达佛果涅槃。“如”是指佛陀的法身，遍满虚空，充塞法界，如如不动;“来”是指佛陀的应化身，此“身”为救度众生“应化”而来。“如”是静态的，“来”是动态的，成佛以后本是动静不分、法应不二的，如《金刚经》说：“如来者，无所从来，亦无所去，故名如来。”因此，“如来”是说佛陀在如如不动的法身中，因悲悯救度众生，应化而来，故曰“如来”。

二、应供：佛陀三只修福慧，百劫修相好，经过累劫的修行、度众，证断三惑，超越二死，积聚福德因缘，达到“三觉圆满，万德具足”的究竟佛果，堪受人天供养，故名“应供”。正如一个人把毕生岁月奉献给国家社会，一旦功成身退，理应受到国家的退休金安养天年一样。

三、正遍知：又作正等觉者，即佛陀能正觉一切法，有别于凡夫的不觉与外道的错觉;佛陀能遍觉一切众，有别于二乘的自觉与菩萨的“虽正知而不遍”。由于佛陀的智慧能正遍了知一切法，故名“正遍知”。

六、世间解：佛陀具足彻悟宇宙真相的智慧，包括认识诸法总相是空的“一切智”、认识诸法别相是缘生而有的“道种智”，以及认识空有不二、性相一如的“一切种智”。由于佛陀能彻底了知世间、出世间的一切实相，故名“世间解”。

七、无上士：佛陀的智慧、禅定、戒行等一切智德圆满，福慧具足，于人中无有过者，所以有谓：诸法中，涅槃无上;诸果中，正觉无上;一切众生中，佛陀至高无上，故号“无上士”。

八、调御丈夫：佛陀大慈大智，能以种种方便调御修行者的心性，使往涅槃正道，正如驯马师善于调御马性，故名“调御丈夫”。

十、佛：即自觉、觉他、觉行圆满的圣者。

具备以上十种名号者，即名“世尊”。世尊，含有自在、炽盛、端严、名称、尊贵、吉祥等六义，又称有德、有名声等，为世间最尊贵的人。

佛陀三觉圆满，万德具足，为世间、出世间一切凡圣所共尊，因此世人用种种的异名来称扬佛陀的巍巍功德。除了上述十号以外，诸如：世雄、世英、世眼、法王、佛日、能仁、大导师、大圣人、大沙门、大医王、两足尊、人雄、师子等，都是世人对佛陀的尊称。从这些名号中，也可以进一步认识佛陀的崇高伟大。佛弟子在称念佛名时，则应欣羡佛陀的断德，仰慕佛陀的智德，乃至“是心念佛，是心作佛”，以报答佛陀的恩德，这才是我们称扬佛陀名号的积极意义。
