Master Jingjie: Those who practice Pure Land should not think about the good deeds you have created

When this inverted sentient being has a very fast speed when the "sacrifice this consciousness" of the eighth consciousness releases the inner karma into the result, its speed is very fast, and its behavior is very subtle.Therefore, we mistakenly believe that when the eighth consciousness releases karma, it is an indestructible self, which is a constant and unchanging self, which causes our seventh consciousness to have wrong cognition, so it is called Alaya.

The Alaya consciousness is a basis for cause and effect. In the process of preserving karma and releasing the consequences, it is attached to the self-consciousness generated by the seventh consciousness. This is the so-called Alaya.

This means that if we do not understand what the basis of knowledge is today, if we do not discuss the root of cause and effect today, we will habitually think: I will worship Buddha today, and I will worship Buddha;Who keeps the precepts?It is me who keeps the precepts;If I do good deeds, I will also get the consequences.There is a very serious problem with this kind of thinking: it is your karma, because of the attachment of self-consciousness, this karma is to receive impurities in the three realms, and this karma cannot be ascended.

Therefore, in "Wenchao", Master Yin Guang warned all those who practice Pure Land: Don't think about your good deeds all day long!

You think: Hey, I have done a lot of good deeds today.Every time you think about it, you will increase the power of the Three Realms once.

You must take your good deeds: Hey!I did not commit good deeds.Dedicate all your good deeds to the Pure Land. I cannot obtain them. I will sublimate your good deeds.

If you think about you creating a lot of good karma all day long, this is just the saying: "Store this consciousness for the sake of self", that is, taking self as the center and collecting a lot of good karma, the result will be achieved by this I in the future.

So there is nothing wrong with practicing good deeds, and practicing good deeds itself. The problem is: Don’t always think that there is a person who is creating good deeds.In this way, mindfulness at the end of your life will be a barrier to your path.Because every time you think like this, you will generate a power in the opposite direction, which is the power to get the result in the three realms.When you are dying, your refuge is mindfulness, but you usually accumulate a lot of functions, so that good and evil will begin to resist, creating obstacles for you at the end of your life.

If you say "I hope I will have no obstacles at the end of my life", then you should not create the power of this obstacle in normal times, and you cannot wait until you die before resolving it.

Therefore, Master Huiyi said in "Lingyun Sentences": "The origin of life and death for countless kalpas is regarded as the original person."The Alaya consciousness itself is the foundation of life and death. We should cultivate the view of self-emptiness and Dharma emptiness to cure Alaya and destroy Alaya. As a result, you regard Alaya as your self-consciousness, "the origin of life and death for countless kalpas", and as a result, "the foolish people regard it as their original person."

This place explains that "this consciousness is self-sacrifice". This inverted sentient being, taking the Alaya consciousness as self, produces a powerful flowing force among the three realms.

Therefore, we should dedicate our merits and dedicate our good deeds, and not let these good deeds be combined with ourselves.

Who is creating good deeds?It is just a thought of creating karma. When my thought of bodhicitta creates karma, it is also the result of bodhicitta;Don’t say that it’s “I” who do good deeds, don’t think like this.
