Since there is a phenomenon of revenge and revenge, it means that there have been murder and being killed in the past, which has led to the ripening of causes and conditions in this life. The murderers in the past have become murderers, and the murderers in the past have become murderers. The murderers in the past have become murderers. The murders and being killed again have occurred again, and revenge and revenge continue to occur.Killing is an evil deed. Not only can it not resolve the grudge, but it becomes deeper and even more difficult to resolve the problem. Therefore, two cases of killing and being killed are specifically explained.
The first example illustrates the causal relationship of the extermination of the Sakyamuni clan. The sutra records that the Buddha became a Buddha shortly after he preached the Dharma in Deer Nye Garden in Poronai. At that time, the Kusaro Kingdom was a country with very powerful force, and the king was King Bosnag, and he had just ascended the throne. One day, I had a thought to marry a woman from the Sakyamuni tribe as my queen. He told his ministers: You go to Kaziluo Ave city to propose marriage to the Sakyamuni clan. If the Sakyamuni clan refuses, he will use force to force the marriage. After receiving the order, this minister went to the Kazia City to propose marriage to the Sakyamuni clan.At that time, a total of 500 members of the Saga tribe gathered to discuss the matter, but there was no consensus at the moment; There was a man named Mahanan in the association. In order to explain the danger of the Ka tribe, he sent the woman born to the maid in the mansion to be his wife to King Bosina.King Bosina did not know that this woman was born to a maid, and saw that this woman was a good face and rare in the world, so he accepted it happily and gave birth to a man with her, named Liuli, and made him the crown prince. When the Prince of Remote was eight years old, King Bosnai told the Prince of Remote: You have grown up and you can go to the Acropolis of Kazilo to learn how to shoot. The displaced prince went to his grandfather Mahanan's house to learn shooting according to the orders of King Bosenag. At that time, there was a lecture hall in Kabiluo City that was extremely solemn. The people of the Sakyamuni tribe wanted to use this lecture hall to offer sacrifices to the Buddha and the monks, so they laid various seats, banners, burned incense, water, burned lamps, etc. to offer sacrifices to the Buddha and the monks.Unexpectedly, the Prince of Fuli arrived at the lecture hall and saw that the lecture hall was very solemn, so he sat on it;When the Shakyamuni people saw this, they were very angry and drove the Liuli Prince out of the Master's throne and scolded Liuli Prince: The child born to the maid is not qualified to sit in this Master's throne. After the displaced prince suffered this great humiliation, he turned to the Brahma behind him and said bitterly: If I become king, remember to remind me to repay this great humiliation.Later, the Prince of Liuli ascended the throne and became Liuli. Fan Zhi was very distressed and reminded Liuli: Don’t forget the great shame and humiliation you suffered in the Sakyamuni clan at that time. When the King of Liberation thought of this, he launched a war to destroy the Sakya clan.At that time, many monks heard the voice of the King of Liberation trying to destroy the Sakya tribe, so they reported to the World Honored One that after hearing this, the World Honored One waited under a dead tree on the way to the Kazira Acropolis; The King of Remote saw the Buddha sitting under the dead tree, with his head and face, standing beside the Buddha, and confessing to the Buddha: There are many dense trees to sit on this road, so why does the Buddha sit alone under this dead tree? The Buddha said: The shade of relatives is better than other shades, so I sat under the dead tree waiting for the king to arrive. After hearing this, the King of Liberation knew: Today, the Buddha sat under this dead tree for the sake of the Sakyamuni clan and reminded me not to kill the Sakyamuni clan members. The King of Remote dismissed from the Buddha.Later, Brahma Zhi was very distressed and asked the King of Liuli to attack the Shakyamuni. Liuli raised troops again, but met the Buddha on the road and returned. After three times, they all returned without success. In the end, the King of Remote was reminded by the Brahma Zhi to launch an army to attack for the fourth time. However, the Buddha had long known that the consequences of the destruction of the Sakyamuni clan were inevitable. At this time, when Master Maudgalyayana heard that the King of Liberty wanted to attack the Shaka clan, he reported to the Buddha three times, for the first time: he wanted to move the King of Liberty's army to another place, and not let the King of Liberty kill the Shaka clan. The second and third times: He wanted to move the Kaziluo Acropolis into the void, and to cover the Kaziluo Acropolis with an iron cage, so that the King of Remote will not enter the city to kill the Saga tribe. The Buddha answered Maudgalyayana three times: Can you reverse the cause and effect of the past?Venerable Maudgalyayana answered three times: No!Finally, the Buddha told Maudgalyayana that the cause and effect of the King of Liberation and the Sakyamuni clan has been ripe and cannot be changed. Today, the Sakyamuni clan will suffer the consequences of the extermination of the clan.Later, as the Buddha said, the King of Remote and the four generals of the soldiers and generals of the Sakyamuni clan were destroyed, and a total of 99.9 million people of the Sakyamuni clan were killed. After such a tragic event, the monks told the World Honored One: World Honored One!What bad cause did the Sakyamuni tribe do in the past that was destroyed by the displaced king and the four soldiers in this life? The Buddha explained the causes and conditions of the past to the monks: a long time ago, there was a fishing village in the city of Kapila Aeros. At that time, the rice was as expensive as gold. One liter of gold could be exchanged for one liter of rice. The fishermen had no money to buy rice to make a living, so they mostly survive by eating grass roots; There is a large pond in the fishing village with many fish inside, and the fishermen make a living by fishing. There are two fish in this pond, one is a slander and the other is a slander. I saw many aquatic beings being arrested and died, so I issued a poisonous curse: the fish in the pond have nothing to do with the fishermen, but now fishermen compete to eat our aquarium, etc. If there is a cause and effect in the future, I should avenge this killing revenge. At that time, there was a child in the fishing village who was only eight years old and neither fished nor killed him. Seeing the fish jumping, he hit the fish's head with a stick. Then the Buddha taught the cause and condition of the destruction of the King of Liberation and the Shakyamuni clan: the fishermen in the Kabila Acropolis at that time were the Shakyamuni clan members now;The fish named Kuai is the current King of Displaced; The fish called two tongues is the current Brahma Shrine; The fish caught by the fishermen are the four soldiers of the wandering king;At that time, I saw an eight-year-old child jumping on the shore and catching the fish head, which was the predecessor of me, Sakyamuni.Because fishermen competed to capture the sentient beings of the aquatic race, they fell into hell and suffered after death. Later, they were able to escape from the three evil paths. In this life, they became members of the Sakyamuni tribe, and were wiped out by the displaced king, the Brahmasa and the four soldiers. And I am going to suffer the consequences of the headache, and the headache is as severe as being pressed by Mount Sumeru!
From the personal experience of Shakyamuni Buddha, looking at this real example of killing and being killed, we tell us three key points: the first key point is that the cause and effect are so vivid! In the past, I have committed the karma of killing. Even if I have gone through many disasters and have ripened the causes and conditions in this life, I will still suffer the consequences of being killed. Therefore, the Buddha said it very well in Volume 57 of the Great Treasure Sutra: If the karma that does not perish after a hundred kalpas, the cause and condition will be encountered, and the consequences will be borne by oneself.(Volume 57 of the Great Treasure Accumulation Sutra) This is really true! Not at all false. Therefore, Buddhist disciples should know that killing is an unfair deed. This is because sentient beings love their lives very much. Once they are killed, they cannot accept such facts, so they want to take revenge; If the cause and condition of the future is ripe, of course, we must recover the consequences of being killed in the past.In this kind of vicious cycle of killing and being killed, when will the revenge be repaid? The second key point is that the King of Liberation and the four soldiers killed 99.9 million Shaka tribe members, and blood flowed into a river! The Buddha once foresawed: After seven days of the relocation king and his four soldiers, they drowned in a storm while crossing the river, and fell into the Avici Hell and suffered after death. The Buddha also taught in other scriptures: Killing is a serious crime, let alone killing so many people! Therefore, after the death of the King of Remote and the four soldiers, they fell into the Avici Hell and suffered immeasurable suffering. This tells the public one thing: if you want to know the causes of the previous life, the recipients of this life are;If you want to know the fruits of the next life, the author of this life is.If the fishermen in Kabiluo Ave city had not encountered famine and fishing, and if they had no restraint and curses to kill these fishermen, would there be such that the Saga tribe was later destroyed?Obviously not!Even if the cause of badness has been created in the past, if these causes can be resolved with compassion, there will be no tragic situation in which the King of Vaishou and the Four Army will destroy the Shaka clan, and there will be no retribution for the King of Vaishou and the Four Army of Vaishou to fall into the Avici Hell and suffer. Therefore, Buddhist disciples should know: do not commit the karma of killing casually, so as to avoid suffering for a long time and constantly reincarnation in the three realms. The third key point is that many people ignore one thing, that is, an eight-year-old child uses a stick to fish his head. Although after countless disasters, an eight-year-old child achieves Buddhist path for his master Shakyamuni Buddha, he still suffers from the remnant of headaches. As Buddhist disciples, can they be careless when they hear such subtle things? Therefore, in the scriptures, a real example was described. You should really pay attention to your body, speech, mind and behavior, and not commit it casually, so as to avoid unlovely retribution. In the Buddha world, an old man made a living by repairing the spokes of a car. One day, Venerable Maudgalyayana fell into the mountain because of long-term flights and exhausted his energy. He happened to fall in front of the old man. When the old man saw Maudgalyayana look like a ghost, he thought it was a monster, so he raised the car to attack Maudgalyayana. Venerable Maudgalyayana fainted because he was beaten. After the Buddha learned about it, he felt pity for Venerable Maudgalyayana and blessed with the power of the Buddha, which made Venerable Maudgalyayana learn that the old man was the father of Venerable Maudgalyayana in his previous life. Once during a quarrel between the two, Venerable Maudgalyayana had an evil thought: wouldn’t it be nice if he could whip this old bone!Although Maudgalyayana was just remembering in his heart and not taking action, he still had to suffer this retribution in this life! Therefore, Buddhist disciples should be very careful about their thoughts and actions on the road of cultivation, because every thought and action on their own will have a causal relationship. If you don’t know these principles and don’t know if you have created karma, what’s the use of complaining about the future and complaining about others? It’s better to be careful in words and actions and your thoughts and actions, and your body, speech and mind, right?
Next, let’s talk about the second example, which is the real story that happened in the Tang Dynasty, which is the causal relationship between Master Wuda and human face sores described in "The Samadhi Water Repentance of Compassion";Later, through the help of Venerable Canoga, the grudge between the two was resolved.Master Wuda's common surname is Chen and his name is Zhixuan. He was from Meizhou, Sichuan. He became a monk at the age of seven. At the age of fourteen, he had already explained the Nirvana Sutra to emperors, ministers, civil and military officials, etc., so people call it Chen Bodhisattva. When Zhixuan was young, he once placed an order in Kyoto, Chang'an and met a monk named Ganoga. At that time, the monk had sores and his whole body smelled a foul smell. Many people were very disgusted when they smelled this smell, so they stayed away from him and did not ask a doctor to treat him;Only Zhixuan was compassionate with his illness and took the initiative to take care of him and remove the sores for him until his illness was cured.Later, Venerable Canoga was grateful for Zhixuan's kindness and said to him: If you encounter disasters in the future, you can come to Jiulong Mountain, Pengzhou, Sichuan to find me. There are two big pine trees standing together on the mountain, which is where I live, and I will resolve the disaster for you. After Emperor Wuzong of Tang Dynasty suffered an unprecedented catastrophe, the Buddhist community encountered an unprecedented catastrophe until Emperor Yizong of Tang Dynasty wanted to revitalize Buddhism, so he invited Zhixuan to debate with his disciples to revive Buddhism. Therefore, he became famous for a while and became the leader of the Buddhist community at that time.In the tenth year of Emperor Yizong of Tang Dynasty, the emperor went to Anguo Temple and appointed Zhixuan as the National Master Wuda, and gave a sandalwood throne, which was two feet high and very solemn! When Master Wuda went to the school to preach, he had a thought of arrogance and a human face sore appeared on his left knee; This person has facial sores, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, and teeth, and needs to be fed every day, just like ordinary people! The teacher and student of Wuda Country suffered from sores and pain. Although he had asked famous doctors to treat him, since this was not an ordinary disease but a causal disease and was no longer a disease that ordinary doctors could treat, all the doctors were helpless. One day, Master Wuda remembered the order of Venerable Canoga before leaving, so he went to Jiulong Mountain in Pengzhou, Sichuan to find Venerable Canoga. One evening, he saw two big pine trees standing together on the hillside, and there was a very solemn hall next to it. Venerable Canoga had already been waiting for Master Wuda in front of the hall, and the two were very happy to meet!Master Wuda talked about his condition, and the Venerable told him: I will treat you tomorrow and you will be cured on the same day.The next morning, Venerable Canoga ordered the boy to lead the way and led Master Wuda to a spring to wash his face and sores; When Master Wuda washed his face with spring water, he actually spoke out and said: Do you know the incidents between Yuan Ang and Chao Cuo recorded in the history books of the Western Han Dynasty?Master Wuda replied: I know! The face sore replied: Yuan Ang was you at that time, and Chao Cuo was me. When the seven kingdoms of Wu and Chu rebelled, you framed me in front of the emperor, causing me to beheaded in the east city and implicated the nine tribes. No one in the family survived. I have been looking for opportunities to retaliate for such a deep hatred; However, you have become a monk for ten years. Not only do you keep the wars strictly, but you are also protected by the guardian gods, so that I cannot take revenge. Now you are deeply favored by the emperor, and you have a sense of arrogance, giving me the opportunity to take revenge. Today, Venerable Mangorga resolves the grudge between us, and I will never make things difficult for you again. After hearing this, Master Wuda was shocked!I quickly took spring water to wash my knees. I was unconscious because the pain penetrated into my bone marrow. After I woke up, I had long disappeared from where the face sores were gone.Master Wuda knew that his grudge against human face sores had been resolved and wanted to thank Venerable Canoga, but unfortunately, Venerable Canoga and others and the solemn hall disappeared! In order to repay the kindness of Venerable Canoga for using Samadhi Water to wash away the sores of the face of the human body, Master Wuda created the repentance method of "The Samadhi Water Repentance" for future generations, which was passed on to later generations. When future generations encounter enemies, relatives and creditors, they can resolve the grudge between the two through the compassion of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and the merits of "The Samadhi Water Repentance".From this example, we can see that when sentient beings are killed, of course they will not be balanced. They have been trying to find opportunities to retaliate, which will cause the future killing and being killed to continue to repeat until the knot of the two of them are open and they are willing to resolve such grudges. Otherwise, there will be no chance to resolve the murder and being killed!
From the above two examples of killing and being killed, we can see that killing is not a good deed, but an evil deed.Because I killed the other person's life in the past and became the killer; When the conditions in the future are ripe, you will become the one who is killed to repay the other party's life, so that killing and being killed will continue to happen, repeat, and the roles will be constantly exchanged. When will the revenge be repaid? The Buddha fully understands the causes and consequences of killing and being killed, as well as the relationship between the development of causes and consequences; Therefore, the Buddha sets precepts for sentient beings, whether it is the Five Precepts, Ten Precepts, Shravaka Precepts or Bodhisattva Precepts. The priority is not to kill sentient beings, because killing is an unfair deed and contrary to compassion, so Buddhist disciples should not kill.In the sutra, the Buddha also warned: There are two kinds of consequences for killing, one is short-lived, and the other is often sick.Because of killing, all sentient beings have obtained the consequences of evil karma in the present world, such as poor health, short life, bad reputation, often decreasing the property they gain, even disappearing, often not being separated, often being scolded by sages, their own lack of trust, causing others not to believe what they say, giving up this body and falling into hell and suffering, etc. Therefore, Buddhist disciples should not kill animals, so as not to continue to revenge. If everyone can look at it this way, it will not only protect their body and mind from worry, but will not delay their own journey of becoming a Buddha because of enemies, relatives and creditors.
