师答：过去的祖师大德们给我们总结了一下：深信因果，奉行三归，严守净戒，老实念佛。是合格佛子所应具备的基本条件。大家可以对号入座，自观自查一下，看看自己哪里做得到，哪里没有做到。

合不合格不是说出来的，自身的行动体现自己的价值，现在的我们随时都能说几句“佛言祖语”，也都喜欢给别人开示佛陀的伟大和修行的殊胜，认为语言的描述是体现我们“合格佛弟子”的最直接的方法，但在这个信息膨胀的时代，以身表法才是最真实的。所以小僧认为，一个合格的佛弟子，应该先从“止语”开始。训练自己该说的话就说，能不说的就别参与，把闲聊的时间用来念佛，这样训练下去，久而久之，你就会无私无欲，没有杂念，一切随顺因缘。因为无求，外面就没人会伤害你，你的心也就慢慢地定下来了。定中便能生慧，为什么这样做?因为，诸佛的名号代表了觉悟的向往。始终把这种向往挂在心头，你才能不在乎一些虚幻的外相，这是最基本的条件，也是最重要的基础。
