杜顺和尚只要跟他面对面地坐在那里，过一会儿这个病人病就好了；有人说不出话，到了杜顺和尚那里，就能够讲得出来；有人耳朵聋了，去见了杜顺和尚，他就能够耳朵听得到声音。像类似的事情枚不胜学，乃至于恶劣难调的牛马等畜生，只要杜顺和尚劝导几句，它们都变得驯服而温顺。

6、杜顺和尚有很多的神奇的故事，但是呢，有人知道，也有人未必知道；有人相信，也有人未必相信。

他手下有一弟子，跟他学法有十多年了，刚开始信心很大，但慢慢久了以后，见师父白天种地、晚上念《华严经》，觉得这很平常，没有什么可学的，不如到五台山朝拜文殊菩萨，求开智慧。他向师父请求，师父说：“不必去了，在这里修行和去五台山拜文殊菩萨是一样的。”弟子不明白师父的意思，一再求道：“师父，我已发愿朝山，请您慈悲，了我心愿。”师父见他去意已决，便开许了。

弟子将信收下，立刻启程。他按信上的地址沿路打听，找到了青娘子，没想到她是一个妓女。他十分惊讶：“师父怎么会有一个当妓女的朋友？”但信封上明明写的是给她，因此便照样交给她。那个妓女拿过信，拆开一看，说：“我知道了，我的工作已做完，现在该走了。”说完坐着圆寂了。弟子觉得奇怪，将信捡起一看，

信上说：“观音，我现在事情办完了，要走了，你也跟我走吧。”原来青娘子是观音菩萨。

以后他也就不想在世间法玩了，就出家了，这一出家你看他有神通感应，如果一个哑巴，他叫他，过来跟他一说话，一对话，那个人就跟他对话了，一个聋子跟他一说话也听清楚他的话了。
