Master Huisi (515-577 AD), whose family surname was Li, was from Wujin County, Ruyang County, Yuzhou, Nanwei, Later Wei (now Shangcai County, Henan). He became a monk at the age of fifteen. After receiving the precepts at the age of twenty, he strictly abides by the precepts. He does not often interact with others. He reads and recites the "Lotus Sutra" and other sutras every day, and it takes thousands of times in several years. He also began to practice meditation because of reading the "Miao Sheng Jing Sutra".When going out for a visit, I asked about Zen methods, and often practiced Zen in the forest. So he died in Nanyue in June of that year.

Huisi has been learning meditation from Huiwen for a long time, and has been practicing for two seasons, but she has not yet attained enlightenment. When the second summer came, Huisi wanted to continue practicing again. He made up his mind that he could not realize the truth, so he died here.Huisi tied his thoughts to the front and entered into silence. On the first three days and the seventh day, Huisi saw that she had good and evil karma in her life. This is the beginning of enlightenment. Huisi sighed at this and worked harder.

Then eight kinds of feelings suddenly appear one after another, entering the first meditation.Afterwards, my body seemed to be seriously ill, my limbs were weak, I could not walk, and I could not help myself. After self-observation, Huisi knew that this was caused by his previous evil karma, and for no other reason, this feeling occurred in the process of eliminating evil karma.Huisi ignored this and just kept it calm.

Then, Huisi felt her body like a white cloud, her heart was refreshed and quiet, and all the pain was removed. At the end of summer, Huisi's meditation remained in the state he had reached at the beginning and had no further gains.Huisi checked herself and found that she was drowsy due to excessive observing emptiness. Huisi felt very ashamed.Huisi relaxed her body and wanted to lean against the wall. Before her back was touched by the wall, she suddenly became enlightened and entered a higher state. Both the Lotus Samadhi and the Mahayana Dharma have been confirmed, and oneself has achieved thorough enlightenment and no longer needs guidance from others.

Meditation is an important method to cultivate wisdom and attain enlightenment. When monks study the Dharma, they should pay equal attention to insight and practice. View is knowledge, and practice is to verify knowledge in practice.During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism in my country relied on the north and the Southern Suggested on the knowledge and principles.Later, the confluence of Buddhism in the north and the south emerged, which promoted the development of Buddhism in China.Huisi is an important figure in spreading the method of meditation from north to south, thus promoting the exchange of Buddhists in the north and south.

When Huisi was young, she was famous in the village for her kindness and kindness.Huisi once dreamed that a monk from India advised him to become a monk. He was shocked and said goodbye to his parents and entered Buddhism.

When Huisi first entered Buddhism, she felt that a monk taught him in his dream, asked him to fast, asked him to abide by the precepts, and practiced as required by the Buddhist scriptures. After receiving the full precepts, the wisdom of wisdom has become more determined.Huisi often sits in a quiet place and practices, only eating one meal a day.Huisi read Buddhist scriptures such as Lotus Sutra, and in a few years, he finished reading thousands of times.

Once, the house where Huisi lived was burned and the person who burned the house immediately fell seriously ill.The person who burned the house found Huisi and asked him to repent, Huisi accepted it.The burner built a thatched house for Huisi, and Huisi recited scriptures and practiced as usual in the thatched house. The disease of the burning house has also been cured.

Afterwards, Huisi dreamed of hundreds of Buddhist monks, with unique shapes and costumes. The great master of the prefect said to Huisi: Although you have received the precepts, your monk's etiquette is not good. How can you enter the right path in this way? When you meet monks who are doing chaste, you have to learn from them.Huisi then took forty-two monks as his teachers and received the Karma Dharma with all precepts. After learning, Huisi suddenly realized that this was arranged in a dream. From then on, Huisi practiced more diligently and focused on studying the Dharma. After practicing, Huisi saw the Taoist things he had done in his three lives.

After Huisi practiced for a period of time, she dreamed that Maitreya and Amitabha preached to him. After waking up, Huisi made two portraits and offered them together. Then, Huisi dreamed of meeting Dao Maitreya and his family in Longhua.Huisi said to herself: I have been upholding the Lotus Sutra in the last days, and now I am guided by the Buddha in this way. I am really lucky in my three lives.Huisi shed tears in emotion and suddenly gained great enlightenment.

Huisi further practiced Buddhism, and various auspicious signs appeared one after another. The water bottle used by Huisi is often full, and all kinds of tools are all in one go, as if there is a boy from heaven guarding him underground.

When Huisi was reading the Miaosheng Samadhi Sutra, she admired the skill of meditation very much.Huisi determines to practice meditation. At that time, Huiwen's meditation skills were profound, so Huisi went to practice and learn from him.

After Huisi achieved meditation, she went to visit Master Jianshu and described to them the realm he had realized, and everyone was happy for him.Huisi became famous all over the world because of this, and admired his virtues and the number of apprentices coming to the teacher increased. There are many methods to practice. Huisi chooses the method of concentration and wisdom in the Mahayana and Hinayana to guide everyone into meditation and practice self-cultivation.

There are many people who study meditation, and there are some people with ulterior motives. Some people resent Huisi and put poison in his meal, trying to poison him, but failed. The heretics jointly planned and harmed him, but it did not come true.Huisi didn't care about this: there will be rumors in the world of the Great Sage, let alone a person who is unvirtuous like me?This kind of persecution is difficult to escape. It is caused by the wrong things I did in my previous life. I must accept it even when the persecution comes to redeem my sins in my previous life. This is my private matter, you don’t have to worry about it.But Buddhism will soon be destroyed here. Where can we avoid this?

At this time, the monk Mingkong said: If you want to practice meditation, we can go to Nanyue or Wudang, which is a good place to practice Taoism.

Huisi left Songyang in the early years of Wuping, Qi, and led his disciples to move south, hoping to find a place to practice invisible and invisible, just like the great masters before. As soon as he arrived in Guangzhou, Emperor Yuan of Liang was overthrown, the country was in chaos, and the road to the south was blocked.Huisi and his disciples had to temporarily live in Dasu Mountain. In a few years, as many disciples who came to join Huisi were surging.

Dasu Mountain was on the border between Chen and Qi, and the two countries were at war. The promotion of Buddhism was hindered. Many people were afraid of war and dispersed one after another.Only those who are determined to practice the Tao will spare no effort to stay and learn the Dharma from Huisi.Huisi taught them the method of meditation and the principles of Buddhism.

Then, everyone asked Huisi to talk about the two sutras of "Prajna" and "Lotus Sutra".What Huisi said can all expound the mysterious meaning of Buddhist scriptures.Jiangling came to study the Dharma with wisdom, wisdom, wisdom and extensive knowledge, and Huisi asked him to preach on his behalf.Zhiyan felt a little confused when talking about the point where one mind possesses all things.Huisi explained to him: This means a great order, not the perfect and sudden statement of the Lotus Sutra. When I was in Xiaxu in the past, I was struggling to think about this issue. One night, I suddenly felt a thought arises all things, which confirms this statement.

Zhiyan accepted the Three Seven Realms of the Lotus Sutra and practiced Dharma taught by Huisi, and asked Huisi whether the position of the teacher was in the tenth level. Huisi said: No.I am the Shixin Iron Wheel Position. In fact, in terms of the state achieved by Huisi, he has reached the level of long separation from the sea of suffering, but he is humble and concessional, and it is difficult to see what he says.

On June 22, Chen Guangda (year name), Huisi led his disciples to Nanyue and began the great cause of integrating Buddhism in the north and south.

After Huisi arrived in Nanyue, she told the monks: I want to live here for ten years. After ten years, I will travel far away.I also said that I was here in my previous life.

There is a beautiful place near Hengyang, with clear and clear Lin Jingquan, and everyone who sees it is very happy.Huisi said: This is an ancient temple, I lived here in the past.According to Huisi, everyone dug the ground and saw the foundation and some monks' tools. When they walked to the bottom of the rock, Huisi: When I went over here to meditate, the thief chopped my head and died. Now is my reincarnation again.Everyone searched together and found a dead bone. Then they searched carefully to find a skull.Huisi held her head on her head, and later built a tower for it to repay the kindness of her previous life.

Huisi taught the Dharma in Nanyue, and the mountain disciples gathered and became famous.A strange man was jealous and secretly told Emperor Chen that Huisi was a monk from the north and was instructed by Qi to come and destroy it.Emperor Chen sent an envoy to investigate. The messenger walked halfway and encountered two tigers roaring in front of him. The messenger retreated in fright.A few days later, the messenger went again. At this time, a little bee flew to sting Huisi's forehead.Immediately a big bee flew over, bit the little bee to death, and took the little bee's head to Huisi, and then flew away. After Emperor Chen learned about this, he no longer doubted Huisi.Soon, one of the whistleblower died suddenly, and two other were bitten to death by dogs. The signs shown by bees were verified here.

Emperor Chen admired Huisi's profound Taoism and sent an order to bring Huisi to Qixuan Temple in Xiadu.Once, Huisi went from Qixuan Temple to Waguan Temple. It started to rain. He didn't bring rain gear, but his body was not wet and his shoes were not stuck in mud.The disciples of Seng Zheng and Hui Yang met Hui Si on the road, and they praised him: He is really a god!Otherwise, how could this happen?

The ministers of Chen State admired Huisi very much, and Taoist customs were also fascinated by it.The Grand Governor Wu Mingthorough,Respect Huisi and give Huisi a rhino pillow.General Li Xiaowei went to the temple to meet Huisi. He thought on the road: How can I see Wu Ming?thoroughWhere is the half pillow for Huisi? When he arrived at Huisi's residence, Huisi said to Li Xiaowei: If you want to see the rhino pillow, you can see it now.

One day, a voice suddenly told Li Xiaowei to clean the yard and a saint was coming.Xiaoqi immediately asked someone to clean it.After a while, Huisi came and Xiaowei admired her.Xiaowei told everyone about this, and everyone was amazed.Hui thought returned to Nanyue, but everyone dared not save him, so she took him to the riverside with a boat. After Huisi returned to the mountain, Emperor Chen sent three letters every year to express his condolences.

Huisi preached Buddhism twice as much in the mountains, and his Taoism became more profound and unfathomable. The appearance is sometimes big and sometimes small, sometimes hiding away, and sometimes strange fragrances often appear and various auspicious signs are constantly coming.

Huisi once said that she would live on the mountain for ten years and leave as soon as she stayed there. When the ten years were about to be completed, Huisi came down from the top of the mountain to the temple halfway up the mountain, gathered his disciples and preached for days.Huisi tried his best to persuade the monks to learn the Dharma and practice the Tao, and listened to it and was moved by it.Huisi told everyone: If there are ten people who do not spare their lives and often practice the Lotus Sutra, Prajna, and Samadhi of Reciting Buddha's Samadhi, and often practice repentance. I will provide any need for such people at any time.If there were no such people, I would have gone far away.

The asceticism was difficult, and no one of the disciples answered. The wisdom stops thinking and stops, waiting for the end of your life. The little monk Lingbian cried loudly when he saw Huisi was about to leave.Huisi opened her eyes and said: You are a demon, I am leaving, the saints are greeting me, and they are extremely happy. Why do you disturb me? Go out quickly.

After saying that, Huisi left. When Huisi died, the room was filled with strange fragrance. His body had a warm top, a soft body, and a normal expression. He was sixty-four years old.
