Sixteenth, Five Hundred Women Entering Buddhism

A beautiful island stands in the vast ocean southeast of the Kingdom of Shravador.It is surrounded by the sea on all sides and is far away from the land, as if it is an isolated and out of reach of the world.

The island is flat, like a unique, beautiful and mysterious platform suddenly on the sea level. Moreover, there is a real platform Xianghua Platform on the island, which is supported by the vast and profound blue, adding a bit of magical interest.

The island has lush trees, flowers and plants, lush branches and leaves. The entire island is shrouded in a fragrant, elegant, pure and smooth atmosphere, giving people a refreshing and comfortable feeling.

The owner of this treasure island is five hundred Brahmin women, and they are even more extraordinary. They are all talented and noble in character.They live in secluded places, away from the complex world, and are never contaminated with the filth and humble world.

All five hundred women believe in the principle that everything must operate naturally, and they all respect the world with great sincerity.Every day, I focus on learning Taoism, constantly make progress, and never slacken.It is precisely because they live alone, believe in and practice their own paths, so they ignore the world and have no way to know the spread and prevalence of Buddhism in the world. Since they don’t know, there is no way to say that they believe in and respect.

In this way, they lived a peaceful and widowed life on the isolated island, day after day, year after year.This is too dull and uneven day, and some women will inevitably express some feelings:

「We are born as women, from childhood to adulthood, from old age, life is short, time passes so quickly, our bodies will weaken and wither day by day until we die.I'm afraid no one can escape this fate.Instead of wasting time and waiting for death, it is better to go to Xianghua Platform to make a wish as soon as possible. Maybe it can change our destiny?"

Five hundred Brahmin women surrounded each other and climbed to the incense platform.They went to pick the fragrant flowers separately. After a while, each hand gathered together, knelt on the stage, held the fragrant flowers in front of their chests, bowed their heads devoutly and silently, and then made a vow to the sky:

「May the heaven give us kindness and let us five hundred women be born on Brahma and live forever;Free and unrestrained;Stay away from the mortal world full of sin, desire and filth, and get rid of the earthly world that causes endless worries, troubles and sorrows!"

These women also set up an offering on the incense table, put on offerings, and ignite incense flowers.For several days, the green smoke and incense were constantly stirring;Five hundred women knelt down day and night, praying that the Brahma God would be able to show their spirit to satisfy their wishes and expectations.

The knees were swollen and the noise was hoarse, which made people feel unbearable, but they still begged, begged.

When the Buddha saw these five hundred women’s sincere and firm hearts, it was also the reason why they had to save them was ripe.So, the Buddha led many holy disciples to fly up the sky, came towards the isolated island, and landed on the Xianghua Platform.

After several days of incense and praying, the five hundred women were already exhausted at this time, and their weak bodies were shaking and they were about to lose their support.Just when he was in a daze, his heart suddenly lit up, his spirit was refreshed, and everyone opened their eyes wide, because in front of him was a venerable who fell from the sky, sitting upright under the tree, looking at them calmly and kindly, with five hundred servants surrounded by him.

The women were overjoyed, and all the fatigue, fatigue and pain were all over the back of their heads, and exclaimed in unison:

「It's a god!It’s the god who appears!He heard our prayers and came to save us!"Their voices were trembling with excitement.Five hundred women were immediately filled with joy and tears.Excitedly, they pulled and hugged each other, celebrated and comforted each other.

While these Brahmin women hugged each other happily, a man who fell from the sky said loudly:

「This is not a god, this is the supreme supreme among the three realms of desire, form and formless realms, and its name is "Buddha".The Buddha's magic power and merits are incredible and can help all sentient beings escape from the samsara and avoid suffering from the three poisons."

Five hundred women were amazed and immediately bowed to the Buddha and expressed their thoughts:

「We are born in life and are women, so we will inevitably be infected with those ugly auras.Therefore, we are determined to stay away from the world, practice diligently, and relieve the pain of life and death.I beg the Buddha to teach the Dharma so that we can turn on our intelligence."

The Buddha replied, "You made this wish out of your kind nature.There are two actions in the world that bring retribution that is the fastest and most obvious.That is, good will be rewarded, and good deeds will be rewarded;Evil will be punished, and evil will be punished.Which one is worth pursuing, the sufferings of the world, the worries brought by people's affairs, and the silence accompanied by the lack of desire and inaction?"

Then, the Buddha began to preach to these five hundred Brahmin women, when the Buddha said that he would not do any evil and do all good;When purifying one's mind was at the time of all Buddhists, the five hundred Brahmin women answered in unison: "I wish to take refuge in the Buddha, listen to the teachings, and practice seriously!"

While speaking, five hundred Brahmin women all had their hair fall off and were wearing practice robes, just like five hundred nuns who converted to Buddhism.Later, these five hundred bhikkhus continued to practice Buddhism at Xianghuatai, and finally all enlightened and realized the fruit and escaped from the cycle of life and death in the three realms.
