13. Selection of essays for learning Buddhism
、Knowing that life must be dead, no one in the world has escaped, so I studied Buddhism;Knowing that the mind is one but the suffering and happiness are different, so I learn Buddhism;Life does not know where it comes from, death does not know where it goes, joys and sorrows, separations and reunions, and life is fleeting, everything is full of things, where is the truth?I then studied Buddhism; The world is called flaws, and good things are ultimately impermanent. All the four elements and six dusts are illusions. They are poor and understand gains and losses, and return to their spring dreams. So I studied Buddhism;Greedy and indifference are heavy, the cycle of reincarnation is dangerous, and all thoughts and actions are sinful. So I studied Buddhism.Alas!Life has dozens of cold and heat, and it is easy to see the beginning of the past and the end of the past, and it is instantly in an instant. But the world is competing for the shortcomings and discussing the strengths, and urging the truth to overcome the delusion, and suffering a lot.I hope that the lost path will come out forever, and I wish that the other shore will come together, and who will I return to the Buddha's Dharma?
、Precepts are used to generate concentration, and concentration is used to generate wisdom. Therefore, precepts are the key points for entering the Tao.All the Dharmas of Zen, chanting Buddha's name, worshiping, repentance, and even all Buddhist teachings are not precepts, because concentrating the mind is precepts. There are also those who engage in the precepts, and those who follow the principle of precepts, in fact, things are the matter of reason;Rule is the principle of the matter, and it will be the same when you first start.Cultivating a story is no different from view of reason, and view of reason can be integrated into practice.Although our hearts are not clear, we will always be blamed. If we do not take the initiative and make sure to avoid it, the ones we are exposed will be evil, and then we will be able to act in the present and we will not be able to get it and be good.If you talk about being pure and mindful, why not be poor if you harm it!Therefore, can we not follow the examples of the three karmas and take precepts as our teachers, and fall into a state of suffering and troubles?
、I once heard from the teacher: No matter what the biggest thing in the world is, it cannot resist one death;Thousands of deaths cannot resist my cultivation;Tens of millions of practices can't stand my awakening. If you are awakened, your mind will be empty. This is the highest blessing, the importance of benefits and harms are incomparable. You should know that all sufferings are only due to unawareness, and that there is no mistake in the Pure Land Bliss, and whenever the delusions and habits are strong and entangled, you should pay attention to them.
、Shanhu Liang Rengong said: "All kinds of troubles are the places where I cultivate my mind; All kinds of dangers are where I refine my courage; All kinds of difficulties are where I cultivate my wisdom and strength, and everywhere I go to my school."Therefore, those who practice great concentration and great wisdom do not admire the mountains and forests, do not get tired of the world, work and life, everything is the same, but the mind is already in trouble, and all kinds of states are not stuck, and joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness are not moved by the heart.Master Daxin, you should start from here.Integrate one part of the state, realize one part of the original wisdom, eliminate one part of the false thoughts, and obtain one part of the Dharma body.It is more effective to cultivate it in daily use of troubles.
、After decades of life, we are always in troubles. The so-called three sufferings, eight sufferings, countless sufferings, or oppression in life, or the bones of illness, or the difficulty of fulfilling their wishes, or the meeting of enemies and hatreds are all enough to cause extremely rough troubles. The so-called mental pain is actually nothing without them. There are endless things and endless troubles. But to be honest, troubles lie in the heart but not in the human affairs. If we can learn Buddhism and keep our minds calm, then we can realize the states of "one mind is not attached to one, and all realms are idle", "the wise will eliminate the mind, and the foolish will eliminate the environment", and the Heart Sutra "see that the five aggregates are empty, and overcome all sufferings and disasters" and other realms. The ancients said: "I hope to be empty and not to be real."I hope the Buddhist disciples will encourage them together.
、Our mind and nature have ten Dharma realms, like shadows following our bodies, and we will suffer from them; For example, taking photos, long, short, fat, thin, and unhappy. If you think of integrity, you will go to heaven; if you think of greed and anger, you will go to evil paths. One thought is of great importance. If we can observe without thoughts, we can move towards Buddha's wisdom; If you cannot be without thoughts, then all thoughts in the world and beyond, how can you recite the Buddha's name? This principle is very obvious and people refuse to believe it.
、When studying Buddhism, the focus is on calming one's mind, and the ability to produce wisdom is achieved; Can get rid of the suffering; Can get in trouble;Be able to fulfill change; Can strengthen the body; Can contain things;Even life and death can be resolved. However, if you have concentration, you must use precepts. Those who precepts not only precepts themselves (If you kill, steal, and commit adultery ),Refrain from mouth (Like saying something ),Be especially wary. Therefore, it is said that "concentrate the mind as a warning."All Zen and Pure Buddhism are actually precepts. If you practice deeply, you will be more careful. Will there be those who do not gain concentration and wisdom? If a scholar can precept the three karmas together, then his principles and affairs will be harmonious and his merits will be easily perfected.
、When you first learn Buddhism, you must write Prajna to gain insight and achieve the reality. As the passage gradually becomes deeper, those who can observe and illuminate will also realize that they are false minds, let alone words. There are people who search for scriptures and study theories all year round, and go to the sea to calculate sand. They think that those who study Buddhism do not know that the truth is hindered by words, and seek solutions but cannot do things. In the end, they will use their efforts in vain and only increase their knowledge and insights;Language and words, just like medical cases and prescriptions, have nothing to do with this disease. Those who truly study Buddhism are the same as Buddha, both learning and Buddhism are the same, and they are free and easy.It is not just that you become a Buddha immediately, nor that you are obsessed with medical cases and prescriptions, and think that it is ultimate.
、A word of Amitabha, the origin of dependent origination is pure;A word of Amitabha, seeds and appearances are mutually intoxicated;A word of Amitabha can eliminate karma every thought;A word of Amitabha is false in the air;One word Amitabha can cultivate all nature;A word of Amitabha is to cultivate all the nature;A word of Amitabha, the meditation and contemplation are complete;A word of Amitabha, the body and function are as good as it is;A word of Amitabha is emptiness and existence;A word of Amitabha is neither empty nor existent.Only after you understand it in your heart can you realize the wonder of Amitabha. The sutra says: "If a person only recites Amitabha, it is the supreme and profound meditation."Zen Master Tianru said: "After enlightenment, I will not cultivate the Pure Land, so I will keep my brother from realizing it!”
、The eight consciousnesses of ordinary people have eight uses, and their bodies are one.The first five consciousnesses rely on the function of consciousness to help them achieve their use;Although the eighth consciousness can hold all dharmas, it cannot create good and evil by itself. It means that the combination of truth and falsehood is because the true mind is not aware of it, and the falsehood of the ability and object are divided into manas and the false feelings of consciousness. Therefore, among the eight consciousnesses, the power is only six and seven consciousnesses. However, Manas can always examine and hold on to the self-view, but the six consciousnesses are clear and profitable, without any environment, without any cause, and without any matter, their power is extremely strong. Therefore, if you want to transform your consciousness into wisdom, you must first transform your consciousness. If your consciousness changes, all consciousnesses will follow. It is said that you will first capture the king by capturing a thief. If you are not at ease, you should start with the sixth consciousness by practicing meditation and contemplation, or chanting the name of the Buddha. However, is this consciousness the most serious and most serious!
、When you use consciousness in observing and practicing, you use its different functions and eliminate the faults and faults of being attracted by it. The same is true for chanting Buddha's name, chanting the name deeply, tracing the source, and entering the body through the use, unexpectedly transforming consciousness into wisdom. What is convenient and skillful?
、Among Buddhists, each part of Zen and Teaching is two, so how can one divide it?As Master Huiyi said, “There are no ones from the above ancestors who dare to leave the scriptures; All the great masters of the above are those who can understand the mind sect and obtain great help."Not only that, Zen and teachings both originated from the Pure Land Dharma. The so-called flow from this Dharma Realm and all return to this Dharma Realm.Volume 6 of "Lingfeng Sect Theory" says: "No Zen and no purity, the general true nature, is filth and purity, and it impures the Buddha's nature.Believe in Sakyamuni's sincerity and understand the Wishing Wheel of Dharmazang, and then you will know that if you are law, teaching, and Zen, you will all flow out of the Pure Land Dharma, and you will all return to the Pure Land Dharma."Those who study Buddhism should know what they belong to.
、Decades of life pass by in the blink of an eye, and there are only the words of joy, sorrow, separation, poverty, gains and losses, birth, old age, sickness and death. Can all these be caused by causes and conditions, and are born and destroyed by causes and conditions, like illusions and transformations.Although it is an illusion, attachment will bring about suffering and happiness. If you let go, you will be liberated and free. Therefore, the key to Buddhism is to break the attachments and stick to the reluctance, and the mind is transformed by the environment. It will not only cause pain but also cause life and death to flow, and will not be liberated for a hundred kalpas and thousands of lives! Therefore, unblocking the sticking and removing the bondage, untainting the mind, and even gradually falling off delusions and attachments are actually important keys to learning Buddhism.
、The Buddha Shakyamuni sat under the Bodhi tree, saw the stars at night, and realized that all the dharmas in the world are all dependent origination phenomena of the combination of various conditions. The so-called "all dharmas are born, and all dharmas are destroyed. The great monk of Buddha often says this."Precisely because of the combination of causes and conditions, there is no independent and unchanging self-nature, and it is empty in its essence;Although it is empty in nature, the illusion is as if it exists objectively, and it is called false;Empty is false, neither emptiness is false, and not false, not clinging to both sides is called the middle way. This makes us know that if one truth is true, everything is true, if one false, everything is false, and if one is in the middle, everything is in the middle.Since both sides go, the middle way does not stand. What is this?"No one can be named if the people are swaying!”
、Confucius was a saint in the world and once said one thing to the law of the world.Today, two thousand years later, Confucius' words and teachings still shine with the glory of wisdom.“Isn’t it fun to learn and practice it from time to time; It’s a pleasure to have friends coming from afar…” “Reviewing the old and learning the new”, etc., all reflect his noble character and style of diligence in cultivation and gentleness."If you make mistakes, don't be afraid to change." "If you can make mistakes, there is no great thing."Don't have the intention, no necessity, no solidity, no self.""These are all simple words and profound meanings, and they are the criterion for being honest and energetic. As for the Buddha, he was even more big and small, and he gave detailed explanations on the true meaning of the universe and life and the principles of establishing one's own life.It is particularly stated that the space is infinite and boundless, and there is a Buddha land in all directions. "Since the West has passed ten trillion Buddha lands, there is a world called Pure Land," this is a land in the infinite Buddha land;It also shows that time has no beginning and no end, and sentient beings have flowed with karma since the beginning. The Lotus Sutra says: "Entering the dangerous path of life and death, continuous suffering, deeply obsessed with the five desires, like a bull loving tail."Some intellectuals often think that they are very popular, but they are short-sighted, believing in reason but not in things, and believe in precepts, and believing in concentration, which is understandable. As for the "Pultrasound World", "Six Paths of Reincarnation", "Cause and Effect Law", etc., it is really unimaginable. But we should know that Buddhism is the only one in the same way, and the truth of precepts, concentration, wisdom, and even the truth of true reality, there are countless Buddha lands, Pure Land, the six realms of reincarnation, etc.The problem is that I have no understanding or know very little about the objective truth of the realm of Silent Light. For example, even if someone encounters a treasure house, he does not enter the door, and becomes an outsider for life, it is a pity!
、Everyone has birth, old age, sickness and death, but not everyone is alert and has experience. If you can recite the Buddha's name diligently with bodhicitta, charity, shame, and repentance, you will definitely be able to overcome the difficulties.
、Buddhism advocates abstinence of killing and releasing animals, which is reasonable. For the sake of personal greed, kill it and kill it, and the strong will be able to survive! The crab is bound by the whole body and gradually evaporates to death; After the frog beheaded, he still raised his head with second hand and hugged his head. When I saw the pig being killed, I showed hatred, terrifying and resentful eyes, which made people unable to bear to look at it.We occasionally have some minor sores and feel extremely painful, not to mention the cramps and skin we are being killed.Lu Fangweng's poem in Song Dynasty said: "The flesh and blood are so delicious that it is rare, and it is difficult to reach the pain and grievances. Put yourself in your shoes and think about it, who is willing to cut himself into his own hands."The poem by Huang Tingjian of the Song Dynasty says: "My flesh and all living beings have different names and bodies. They are originally of the same nature, but only different bodies. The troubles are caused by him, and the fat and sweetness are for my beard.Don’t teach me how to judge the truth and what should I do?"The Mahayana Sutra also teaches us: "The man who eats meat will eliminate the seeds of great compassion."I advise people to abstain from killing and releasing animals, and to eat vegetarian food and chant Buddha's name, and they will surely be lucky and perfect.
、The theory of cause and effect is one of the important theories of Buddhism."Cause" means the cause, and "Fruit" means the result. There is a cause and a result. There will never be a result without cause in the world and beyond, nor will there be a cause without result. Every move, every word, everything contains the principle of cause and effect. If you hurt others with evil words, people will repay you with evil words. If you help others everywhere, people will definitely repay you with sincerity. Mencius said before: "If a father kills someone, he will kill his father, and if a brother kills someone, he will kill his brother." These are all vivid reflections of the law of cause and effect. The "Five Precepts" are to eliminate evil, and the "Ten Goods" are to do good. In addition to the "Don't do all evil, do all good", it also requires "purifying one's own mind, which is all Buddhism."On the basis of doing good and eliminating evil, we will improve one step further. What is "purifying one's own mind"?Doing the Five Precepts and the Ten Virtues without dwelling on appearances, giving does not dwell on giving, and preaching does not dwell on preaching. The so-called "you should not dwell on form and give a mind, and you should not dwell on sound, smell, taste, touch and dharma" everything is not dwelling on, but it is constantly destroyed. What kind of mind is this? It is barely called "pure mind".Therefore, if you obtain such a cause, you will naturally obtain the result of "the five aggregates are empty, and you will overcome all sufferings and disasters."
、The moral standards and practice content of Mahayana Buddhism, such as the Five Precepts, Ten Virtues, Six Paramitas, and Four Conception, reflect the spirit of selfless offering and progress, which can promote the continuous sublimation of spiritual temperament, and is very beneficial to forming happy and harmonious interpersonal relationships and entering a happy state of mutual assistance and unity. At present, we are in a prosperous era, and science is advancing rapidly and changing with each passing day, but we need further construction of spiritual civilization. The Mahayana Amitabha Sutra says: "The people in the world, fathers, sons, brothers, husbands and relatives, should respect each other without hating each other; There is no connection between existence and no gain, no greed and cherishment; The words and expressions are always harmonious, and there is no contradictory relationship."Specially pointed out: "People are born and died alone in love and desire, go alone in coming alone, and suffer and happiness are at their own risk, and there is no generation. Good and evil change, pursuit of life, and the path is different and the meeting will never happen."It makes people wake up like a dream after reading it!
、Hinayana Buddhism uses the three seals of "impermanence, selflessness and Nirvana and Silence" to confirm all dharmas in the world and beyond. The so-called "impermanence" means that there are absolutely no constant and unchanging things in the world. They are as big as the celestial bodies and nebula in the macro world, as small as the atoms and neutrons in the micro world, all of which are born, died, moved and changed in an instant. Therefore, the "Impermanence Sutra" says: "The earth, the sun and the moon, the time comes, all the end, and there has never been a law, and it will not be swallowed by Impermanence!"The world has birth, existence, destruction and emptiness, creatures have birth, old age, sickness and death, and thoughts have birth, existence, change and death. All things are in the emptiness of dependent origination, birth, death and metabolism. As for the so-called "I", there is no real self to obtain. The five aggregates are combined and the illusion is empty.I am unable to take control of my poverty and gains and losses, and I am at the mercy of my fate. I am here again!Especially even if ordinary people clearly understand birth, death and changes, they do not know that there is the essence of self-nature that is neither born nor destroyed, and is perfect and bright, and are often the whole situation is wrong because of the mistake of this son.Mahayana Buddhism is more comprehensive and extended to form a real seal, using the real seal to verify all dharmas, eliminate the knowledge and views of sentient beings, and enter the knowledge and views of Buddhas. It is not within the reach of thinking, it is not merely measured by words, it is not a mystery and enlightenment, and it is a form of ignorance and saints. The Avatamsaka Sutra says: "If a person wants to know, all Buddhas in the three worlds should observe the nature of the Dharma Realm, and everything is created by the mind."The ten Dharma realms all become the difference between ordinary and saints through the causes and conditions of enlightenment; If you are confused, the six realms will flow, and life and death will be vast.If you realize it, you will turn your back on the dust and become enlightened, and become a Buddha and a ancestor. Isn’t this the so-called “great cause and condition”?
、There are not many words in the Diamond Sutra, but the wonderful meaning is endless! It can be said that it opens the eyes of wisdom and enters the door of no form. Its mysterious meaning seems to be summarized in the four words "not sticky and constantly".To save one's life without restraint means not sticky, and to give away from one's appearance means not sticky; All appearances are false, and they are not sticky. The four aspects of selflessness, human beings, sentient beings, and longevity are not attached to the "me".If you cannot form, you are not stuck to the "dharma";There is no illegal appearance, it means not sticking to "emptiness".Finally, as the Diamond Sutra says: "There is no small amount of Dharma to be obtained, and this is called Anuttara Samyaksambodhi.“In addition, there is no fixed Dharma Tathagata to say;Get the fruit but gain nothing; It should not be occupied by the six dusts;"There should be no dwelling on anything, and the mind should be born";Even the dust is not the dust, the world is not the world, the thirty-two phases are not the thirty-two phases, and the separation of the phase is all the wonderful meaning of non-stickness.Although it is not stuck, it is not eliminated. For example, it is said: "If you are free from all appearances, you will be called all Buddhas", "You should have a mind without anything to dwell on", "This Dharma is neither real nor empty", "The Tathagata is all dharmas as its meaning", "Those who develop the Anuttara Samyaksambodhi mind do not talk about the Dharma's appearance of annihilation."These four words "non-stick and continuous" are actually the true reality of true emptiness and wonderful existence, emptiness and existence are harmonious, body and function are untwo, and formless and unobstructed!
、《The Heart Sutra says: "I see that the five aggregates are empty." This emptiness means that the combination of causes and conditions is empty, and the five aggregates are "empty nature", which is a saying.By further practicing and proofreading, we will realize that all the five aggregates are true emptiness, the nature and appearance are the same, and the principles and affairs are indifferent. The five aggregates are "emptiness".Therefore, the "Lingyun Sutra" says: the five aggregates, six sense organs, twelve places, and eighteen realms, "original Tathagatagarbha, the wonderful true nature."For example, one gold can make many tools, and all tools are one gold;Gold refers to the body of wonderful nature that remains unchanged, and instrument refers to the use of wonderful nature that follows the circumstances. Therefore, if you plan and hold on to the false, you will not know that the appearance is false; If consciousness becomes wisdom, then one will realize that the whole form is nature. It arises according to the circumstances, and all dharmas are Buddhist Dharma. The Sixth Patriarch said: "The six dusts are not evil, but they are also enlightened." Emotions and unscrupulousness are one, and they are in the true Dharma realm everywhere.
、All methods --Zen, purity, sage, esotericism, and teachings are all manifestations of the Buddha's compassion, but many people have a esoteric view, doubt the Tantric Buddhism, and think it is strange and strange. Even Master Hongyi first doubts and then repents, let alone ordinary people! In fact, the arrangement of the secret altar and the practice of law are manifestations of the self-nature. "When appearance is the way, it is the thing and the truth", it correctly shows that appearance is nature and things are the truth. The eighteenth vow of the Mahayana Amitabha Sutra says: "When I become a Buddha, sentient beings in all directions will hear my name, believe in and enjoy all their good roots, and dedicate their merits to you. If you are not born, you will not attain enlightenment.Only eliminate the five rebellions and slander the Dharma."It can be seen that the sin of slandering the Dharma is very serious and cannot be reborn in the Buddha's kingdom. The Bodhisattva precepts are included in the important precepts, let alone slander the Dharma?
、Tiantai Sect talks about "six is Buddha", which means "six" and always "is", without retreatment and retardation;"That is," and always "six" will not give rise to self-arrogance.The so-called "six means": everyone has Buddha nature, which is "reason means";The enlightenment of the mind and nature under the sect, and the great and perfect interpretation under the teachings are "name is";After enlightenment, practice is "contemplation and practice";When you practice until you eliminate the confusion of views and thoughts, it is "similarity";Breaking ignorance and seeing the nature of the Dharma is "separate proof";Benefiting oneself and others, and fulfilling blessings and wisdom is the "ultimate realm"."Six", so the levels are clear, "i.e.", so they are harmonious and unobstructed. The sects talk about seeing the nature and becoming a Buddha, and the first and the last are the same; The teachings talk about the three major kalpas of becoming a Buddha, and the sequences are clear. If you know the meaning of "six means", you will be without paranoia.
、Everything in the world is a combination of various conditions; When causes and conditions are in harmony, there seems to be false appearances. When causes and conditions are separated, they cannot be obtained. Therefore, the "Madhyamaka" says: "The law of all causes and conditions is born. I say that it is emptiness, which is also a false name, and also the meaning of the middle way."But this emptiness cannot be attached to it. If you see that there is emptiness, will it become false existence again? Therefore, the "Madhyamaka" also says: "The great sage talks about emptiness, because it is free from all views. If you see emptiness again, it will not be transformed by all Buddhas."So to return to emptiness and extinction? Then he will not have the Buddha's will. The Middle Way also says: "The true nature of all dharmas is that the mind, actions and words are cut off, and there is no birth or death, and nirvana is like Nirvana.”
、Guanyin Bodhisattva has great compassion and deep compassion, all sentient beings can eliminate disasters and avoid difficulties, and has repeated responses. The merits and wisdom are extraordinary.Once upon a time, Master Yin Guang once advised people around the world to recite the holy names of Bodhisattvas more. The Lotus Sutra Universal Door Chapter says: "Sentient beings are trapped in trouble, and they are forced into countless sufferings. The wonderful wisdom of Guanyin can save the sufferings of the world, possess supernatural powers, and cultivate wisdom and convenience. All the lands in the ten directions will appear in no place... Do not doubt every thought, Guanyin Pure Holy Holy, who will die in trouble and death, can be a refuge."Great compassion and great compassion, and deep sorrow!
、We Buddhists focus on eliminating troubles, pursuing life and death, saving sentient beings, and becoming a Buddha. And the level of life and death is even more important.Fundamentally speaking, if one can recognize one's original mind and see one's own nature, then birth, death, and return, and is not real, and birth, death, and Nirvana is like a dream yesterday. But many false habits cannot be eliminated for a while. If you lack self-enforcement, you will also rely on other people's strength, or recite the Buddha's name and recite the mantra of rebirth every day, and make a vow to be reborn in the West;Or recite the mantra of Ci every day to seek rebirth in the inner courtyard of Tushita. If a person seeking to be reborn in the Pure Land at the time of death, if he can be reborn without being confused and has clear mindfulness, he can be reborn as he wishes, because the mind at the time of death is in a concentration, which is the mind of rebirth in the Pure Land. As the "Pure Land Birth and Non-Birth" says: "If a person can not lose his mindfulness at the time of death, he may have seen the light and flowers, and has been born in the treasure pond.”
、In life, most of them are just seeking life, raising families and children, seeking fame and fortune, and indulging in the six desires. The so-called "three meals a day, one night" and aging in a hurry. They rarely consider the impermanence and changes of this body, and cannot be kept safe.We should work hard and strive for this life. The Sutra of Vimalakirti says: "All benevolent people are the methods of impermanence, strength, strength, firmness, and rapid decay, and they are not trustworthy. If you suffer from suffering and troubles, you will be filled with many diseases. You will be disgusted and you will be happy with the Buddha's body."Therefore, ordinary people with great hearts and kind-hearted men should cherish this rare human body, cherish this unheard Buddhist Dharma, and practice the Bodhisattva's outlook on life with the world view of impermanence, do not do all evil, practice all good, abide by the law, benefit others, diligently cultivate precepts, concentration, wisdom, eliminate greed, anger, and ignorance, and use the six paramitas and four capturings to save the endless and boundless sea of suffering. This may be said to be "unpredictable in this life."
、Mr. Yuan Liaofan has four articles about educating his son, which lists "The Effect of Humility and Virtue".Humility is a virtue of man. As the Book of Documents says, "Persistence brings harm, humility brings benefits." There is no pride and complacent in the world who can achieve knowledge and cultivation; There is no one who can say that he has eliminated the troubles of views and thoughts.Mencius said, "The trouble of being a teacher is to be a teacher." He praised and defamed him. He was arrogant and could not help but laugh at him by those who knew him.
、《The Shurangama Sutra says: "The causes and conditions are in harmony, falsehood is born, causes and conditions are separated, falsehood is called extinction."The Awakening of Faith" says: "All dharmas are different only based on false thoughts; If you are free from false thoughts, there will be no appearance of all realms”;The Diamond Sutra says: "All appearances are false";The Lentakary Sutra also says: "What the previous sages know about it, and they are taught in a different way, and their delusions are not natural."Even if you have any meaning, you will be empty, illusory, and if you have no attachment to the mind, you will be able to understand the wisdom and achieve great joy!On the contrary, if you do not understand your own mind, recognize the truth, be persistent and reluctant to let go, be dissatisfied and lose your master, and become the first suffering person in the world.
、The process of practice can be summarized into five stages, namely learning, enlightenment, cultivation, verification, and use."Learning" is a preliminary step, seeking ways to practice and accumulating various merits;"Enlightenment" is to gradually make delusions from more to less, and even the roots and dust fall off, and to personally realize this original mind and self-nature that does not arise in a single thought and is not ignorant of the spirit;"Cultivation" means to practice after enlightenment, to practice in the realm of the six dusts, and to keep one's own practice;"Certification" means to personally realize consciousness, to clear the aurora, and to fully realize the local scenery;"Use" is used by the body, six degrees and four are used to benefit people according to circumstances, and one is form and emptiness, without any worries.
、There are two points worth noting when cultivating the mind: First, the practice of the superiors is mainly to cultivate concentration. The cultivation of the mind is mainly to cultivate wisdom. It is necessary to combine the upper and lower levels, and to be united in movement and stillness. Only when concentration and wisdom are exchanged can the merits be completed.Because we have been in a long and long period of time, we have deep habits hidden in the eight consciousness fields, and they are always present when encountering conditions. We do not have strong concentration and cannot be the master of ourselves. When encountering situations, we will stick to each other and flow with karma. Therefore, we must sit at the top to practice concentration to be appropriate, and we must practice wisdom to enable it. We often polish and train the five desires of wealth, color, fame, food, and sleep, the six dusts of color, sound, fragrance, taste, touch, and Dharma, the three poisons of greed, anger, and ignorance, and often struggle with our own habits. The more difficult it is to eliminate it, the more we need to eliminate it, and use wisdom to illuminate the power of wisdom to know that all dharmas are born. All appearances are false, and you can endure it in all obstacles. It is like sailing against the current, and you will retreat if you don’t advance. When love is for me, I will turn and distract it; when seeing is for me, I will clear it and empty it;It is also a good thing to do good and eliminate evil, but if you stick to good and keep it, you will be unforgettable and will not be among the enlightenment.Second, the path is one foot high, and the devil is one foot high. The demons of the Paxun, the evil master of the heretics, misleads people, often lose their wisdom and life by saying a word. Even the fifty kinds of yin demons and all the five yin afflictions mentioned in the "Lingyun Sutra" are all demons. When the skill is effective, all kinds of trouble seeds in the eighth consciousness will churn out. Sometimes desires are rising, sometimes the heart is depressed, and sometimes there is nothing to do. The deeper the skill is, the more habits you tend to be revealed.According to Master Hanshan’s instructions, you must use great diligence, great courage and great patience at this time. You must not be tricked by it, you must not be regarded as a practical matter, and you must not be shrouded by it, like a sword in the sky, and all the demons and Buddhas can swing.Demons have external demons and internal demons. External demons are easy to retreat, while internal demons are difficult to decline. Therefore, when habits are turbulent, be sure not to take or leave and ignore them blindly. The Diamond Sutra says: "All appearances are false.""If you see me with your appearance and seek me with your voice, you will walk on the evil path and cannot see the Tathagata."Read the scriptures frequently, and all the demons inside and outside retreat together. If you cannot overcome the difficulties, you can recite the Buddha's name and mantra. With the blessing of the Buddha's power, the righteous thoughts will be revealed, and you can turn danger into safety and peace. My teacher Wang Xianglu Gong said in a verse: "If you want to practice the best, dust and labor will be the resources, and enemies will come together to adorn this temple.”
、《The Huayan Sutra says: "If you cannot understand your own mind, how can you know the right way? That will increase all evil through inverted wisdom."It can be seen that understanding the mind and seeing the nature and pursuing the original nature are the key to cultivating the mind and the key to Buddhism. However, the Pure Land Dharma is a special method. The three roots are universally circulated. People with the highest roots will think of the mind, focus on one state, and engage in the principle of maintaining the principle and purifying the mind from the defiled mind, breaking ignorance, seeing the nature of the Dharma, and taking the principle of being one mind without distraction. The so-called one-minded mind is the state of one mind after realizing the mind nature, the combination of emptiness and existence, forgetting both the subject and the object, and being able to be reborn in the Pure Land of Reward and Adornment.A person with a middle-level character is called "The Great Name" and "The Heart" is always continuous, and it is trained and polished in all favorable and unfavorable situations. The afflictions of views and thoughts are gradually eliminated from the limits, and the realization of entering the mind of things and being able to be reborn in the Pure Land of Bliss.Even if a person with a lower level cannot chant the Buddha's name and eliminates delusions, he can rely on the power of true faith and sincere wishes to continue his mind and mind, and even have ten recitations. He can call him Namo Amitabha, and he can subdue his delusions and karma and suddenly lead to birth and death. It can be seen that the Pure Land method of reciting the name of the name can eliminate doubts and subdue doubts and be reborn in the Pure Land and be free from birth and death. Therefore, it is called a separate teaching within the teachings.
、The key to Buddhism is Prajna. The Prajna method is the fundamental method. The three roots of the Pure Land method are all covered, and the sharp and dull are all included. This is a shortcut. If you want to be born and escape from life and death and accomplish great things, it is difficult to fulfill your wishes without this method. Therefore, any method of practice should be used as the Pure Land method."Taking Prajna as the guide and Pure Land as the destination," is actually the criterion for achieving the fruit of practice.
、The method of reciting the Buddha's name through the continuous thoughts, gradually entering from birth and death without birth and death. After entering the state of chanting without thinking, continue to chant the Buddha's name. It is the use of the body, releases infinite light, and receives the response and communication of the Tao, which can eliminate disasters and avoid difficulties, and achieve merits and be reborn in Pure Land. It is truly and incredible to receive the Buddha's light in the Bodhi mind!
、《The Huayan Sutra says: "How wonderful! How can these sentient beings have the wisdom and virtues of Tathagata, be foolish and confused, and do not know and see it. I should teach the holy path to keep them from delusions and attachments forever, and to see the vast wisdom of Tathagata in themselves, which is no different from the Buddha."There are two points here: 1. All beings have the wisdom and virtues of Tathagata, and they cannot be obtained through cultivation;2. The purpose of studying Buddhism is to be free from delusion and delusion, and the main direction is very clear.
、All Buddhist teachings are means and tools to stop delusion and delusion, and are skillful and convenient, and prescribe the right medicine, either chanting Buddha's name and mantras, practicing Zen to enlighten the mind, worshiping and offering, or returning to the light until the mind is empty and entrenched, and the light is free. However, it is not difficult to cultivate the mind. The difficulty lies in the difficulty of stopping delusions. The difficulty lies in the depth of one's own. However, there are also those who are dedicated and deeply able to gain concentration and wisdom, and there are also those who can only be content with various methods to cure them and do not want to chase them. Their roots are different and they teach according to the opportunity, but there is actually no fixed method to speak of.There are people in the Buddha's world who pull the bellows as their karma. The Buddha's disciples teach to practice the view of impurity, while the other people take to guard the tomb as their karma. The Buddha's disciples teach to practice the view of counting breaths, but they are not effective. They want to return to the secular world but do not practice it.The Buddha knew that the later teachings practiced in exchange and realized the Arhat fruit. Therefore, it is important to be effective, but we cannot "glue pillars and drum zithers".
、All Buddhist teachings are skillful and convenient to save sentient beings, and the yellow leaves stop crying. They are used for a while. "The Dharma should be abandoned, let alone the law." If you insist on practicing the Dharma, reject other methods, and form a view of the right and wrong, and argue about the advantages and disadvantages, it is not only stupid, but also caused by the lack of understanding of the root cause.
、Generally speaking, practice mainly depends on one thing in depth, such as seeing different thoughts and moving, chanting Buddha's name today and practicing Zen tomorrow. If you lack strength to gather, it is difficult to subdue your habits. If you can practice according to the law during the two or six hours, be aware of it, and be at this moment, the roots and dust will naturally fall off, from appearance to formlessness, from birth and death to non-birth and death, and fully realize the true nature of your own mind.
、Only when learning Buddhism can you achieve the corresponding level.Through practice in accordance with the law, we can gradually achieve self-knowledge, self-experience, and self-telling understanding. The so-called tacit understanding means understanding the true nature of being neither born nor destroyed, without reality. But it is necessary to reflect on the light at all times, from birth to mature, gradually reaching the appearance of no self, no human appearance, no sentient being appearance, no life-living appearance (I'm empty )、Can't do it (Dharma emptiness )、No illegal appearance (Empty );Wisdom is cleared through the three emptinesses, the false mind is lost, and even "there is no small amount of Dharma to obtain, which is called Anuttara Samyaksambodhi."
、The Pure Land practice of reciting the name of the name is simple and everyone can do it, but it often makes the scholars unhonest because they are too simple. If you can truly believe in and be sincere and devote yourself to your life, you will be able to last for ten lives, and a hundred lives will be allowed.Mr. Jiang Weinong said: Arise of thoughts is delusion, because the nature of true nature is originally pure and without thoughts, but because ordinary people keep thinking about things, they use the pure thoughts of chanting Buddha to cure them.Although the chanting of Buddha's name is not the essence of the true nature, it is the wonderful use of the true nature. With the pure thoughts of chanting Buddha's name and the pure mind that is inherently possessed, if you can continue every thought, you can realize that there is no thought. Therefore, chanting Buddha's name is a superior convenience. It can be said that it is hard-working and completely revealed.
、The Three Collections of Buddhism are vast and vast. The 84,000 Dharmas seem complex, but they are actually very simple. Because the purpose of studying Buddhism is to eliminate delusions and attachments. If you can go deep into one, work hard, and work hard on the edge of the knife, and transform your consciousness into wisdom, your merits will be easily fulfilled, and there are actually no descendants of Buddhism.
、All Buddhist teachings are based on precepts, concentration and wisdom. The sutra says: Concentrate the mind as a precept, and constipation is born from precepts, and wisdom is born from concentration.Precepts are the foundation, concentration is the basis, and wisdom is the lead. Therefore, all the methods rely on concentration. The so-called "settlement and death" are all based on concentration.Concentration also produces wisdom. The six paramitas and all practices are guided by wisdom. If it is not for the wisdom of Prajna, the five paramitas will inevitably lead to worldly affairs and will not achieve transcendental careers. If one can concentrate on one's mind, then the precepts are also included, so there are "common precepts of concentration" and "common precepts of Tao".Some people say that Buddhism is superstition, not wisdom and faith, isn’t it just a slander!
、The so-called delusion is not achieved overnight. There are also differences between coarse and fine, depth and shallow. The delusion of delusion is lost all day long. The mind is free from concern, and the thoughts are aroused, and they cannot take or give up. However, in fact, the delusion of delusion is still there. They cannot be the same in movement and stillness. They must be aware of it day and night. The more they encounter exciting things, touching the mind, profit and destruction, praise and ridicule, and suffering and happiness, the more they can test their own concentration and wisdom. If you can stop your horse, without distraction, gradually turn from long to short, from thick to plain, from thick to heavy to light, from bare to natural, from intention to unconscious, the roots that were firm and stubborn in the past gradually loosen, and the Dharma enters the vast, bright and free state.
、Mr. Huang Nianzu is a modern master, with a harmonious and harmonious sect and sect.He said, "Now some people value Pure Land and do not allow me to talk about Zen at all. Talking about Zen means betraying the Pure Land Sect, which is too much!"This is worth pondering."I vow to learn the infinite Dharma." As long as you have correct knowledge and views, the master and the assistant are clear and purified, how can you not be able to do so?
、If you sit hundreds to one thousand seats, and you will be on the spot without being able to do it, you can change your course to avoid wasting time. For example, practicing the Pure Land method is a brief and subtle method. When practicing, you should focus your mind and concentrate and recite. As the saying goes, "Enter all six senses and pure thoughts will be followed one after another", and it is easy to obtain the samadhi of reciting Buddha's name;If you can be true to your faith and wish, make the seal of Dharma definition with your hands, and combine the three combinations of thoughts, lips movements, and ear hearings, it is easier to gain concentration and wisdom.Although chanting Buddha's name is simple, you don't pay attention to the methods. You can do it every day, but it is just a task perspective, so it is difficult to enter the state of one mind without any confusion.
、Although it is silent and still unmoving, it is clear in observation. Although it is still living, studying, working, helping and benefiting others, it is true that it is not a good thing to be emotional and not sticking to things. The saying "You should not dwell on anything and give birth to your heart" really makes you the finishing touch. After hearing this, the Sixth Patriarch realized it from then on.
、Most people are engaged in starting their minds, which is necessary, but they are prone to being attached to things, greedy for merit, and replace the reality with virtual appearance. After a period of time, we gradually understand the reason for the truth, and the whole thing is the truth. Give, offer, worship, dedicate, and all things, and are inseparable from our own nature, and the principles and affairs are in harmony. When you have achieved your skills, all dharmas will not be separated from your own nature. All dharmas are Buddhist Dharma. Everything is unobstructed. They will not abstain from things, nor will they stick to principles. They will be pure and inactive, silent and unmoving, and will shine with the wisdom of the mind.Even so, it still has a functional path. The Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment says: "There are awareness and illumination, which are both called obstacles. Therefore, Bodhisattvas always awaken and cannot stay away. Those who shine and illuminate will be extinguished at the same time."It can be said that "the top of the pole is heavy and the whole body appears in the ten directions."When we cultivate our mind, we must work hard to eliminate the words and the mind and actions, and to find information from here to get a beginning. This state is enlightenment, not enlightenment.
、“In fact, we are not subject to any dust, and we are reluctant to give up any Dharma in the Buddhist sect." We are not affected by the outside world psychologically, and we are the master of the realm. We will do the specific personnel, production, work, study, life, and do it one by one, but we are not stuck, like bird traces in the air and knife marks on the water.
、Some fellow practitioners feel that the method they practice is very boring. No matter whether it has taste or not, I just listen to it with my heart and hear it, and have something to do, and keep burying forward and moving. Once my mind is empty and my delusions fall off, I reach the other shore without realizing it. The floating habits from the beginning of time have been transformed, and the right wisdom appears in the place where the delusions stop.
、The main thing of Buddhism is the "mind" and the main thing of practice is the "conception". If you can see that the five aggregates are empty, you will be able to overcome all sufferings.Specifically, no matter what method you practice, when you reach the point where you develop wisdom through concentration, you will be able to understand spiritual knowledge and remain unmoved;Although it is not moving, it does not fall and disappear, and it is silent and illuminated at the same time, and it is the dual movement of cessation and observation, and gradually cleans up the habit of no beginning karma.According to the "separate teaching", the twelve grades of ignorance must be broken; In the perfect teaching, one must break the forty-two levels of ignorance in order to enter the wonderful stage of enlightenment.Although, Prajna is a perfect and sudden teaching, which perfectly subdues and eliminates all troubles. However, breaking ignorance and seeing the Dharma nature is the realm of the Dharmakaya Bodhisattva, and it is not a temporary place to be defiled. If the habit of karma cannot be calmed, then chanting the Buddha's name will be transformed and empty. With the incredible and wonderful existence of the Buddha's name, the karma will be transformed. Over time, the hard work will be achieved, and the strength of the karma will be solid. Relying on the power of oneself and others, you will naturally be able to transform the karma into the invisible and be reborn in the four lands of paradise. The method of chanting Buddha's name is very concise and very practical.
、All Buddhist teachings are nothing more than skillful conveniences, which make people stop delusions, eliminate attachments, cure diseases and cure medicines, purify their original nature, and pervade the Dharma Realm. The sutra says: "The Dharma should be abandoned, let alone the law.""Dharma" means existence, "illegal law" means emptiness, emptiness and existence are not attached to both sides, and they are constantly destroyed. What is this? You can realize it very much.
、The spirit is clear. Some people say that spiritual knowledge is consciousness and is a common heretic. In fact, there is a clear boundary between spiritual knowledge and consciousness.Maitreya Bodhisattva said: "Discrimination is consciousness, and non-discrimination is wisdom.Based on consciousness, based on wisdom and purity.Infection with birth and death, purity without all Buddhas.”So what does “discrimination” mean?It is to think about identifying and stick to it.So in short, stickiness and non-stickness are signs of "discrimination" or not, and can also be said to be the dividing point between spiritual knowledge and consciousness. The roots and dust fall off, the spiritual light is unique, the true emptiness and wonderful existence, and the harmony is unobstructed. You cannot just talk about it, otherwise it will be taken out of context, which will inevitably become a vanishing view and common sense.
、The use of merit is to start from the sixth consciousness, that is, to start from the mind of birth and death, and are all conditioned laws. The path of non-function is at the level of Bodhisattva above the eighth level, and at this time, both human and Dharma are empty. (Both self-attachment and Dharma-attachment are empty ),Three confusions are broken (See and think, dust, and ignorance ),Without adding any function, you will naturally advance to the Tao until you break the last level of ignorance of the ignorance of the appearance and achieve wonderful enlightenment.
、《The chapter on the Perfect Enlightenment of Reciting Buddha's Buddha's name by Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta says: "Entering all six senses and pure thoughts are successively followed", which is actually the key to the Pure Land School. The so-called pure thoughts are initially based on a holy name as pure thoughts. After working hard for a long time, the Buddha's name and distracting thoughts fall out together, and enter the state of pure thoughts that have no thoughts.Pure thoughts are right mindfulness, and pure thoughts are no thoughts. Those who can observe no thoughts are towards Buddha's wisdom.
