Master Jingkong replied: Please give me compassionate teachings about what are the six paramitas?

2014-01-27 Chinese Master

ask:Please be compassionate and teach what are the six paramitas?

Master Jingkong replied: These are the six principles and norms of Bodhisattva’s life. The Buddha's sutras and treatises are eternal and unchanging, and the explanations vary from time to time and region.Buddhism is different from worldly books. Worldly books have only one explanation, but cannot be a second explanation, while Buddhism has no certain explanation. Not only does Buddhism have no certain explanation, but the scriptures say that "the Buddha has no Dharma to speak of."Therefore, Buddhism is flexible, not dead.If there is a certain explanation, it is dead.

For example, a tree has new branches every year and new leaves every year, but its roots and trunk will not change.Classics are like the roots and trunks of trees, and the annotations are like leaves and treetops. New branches and leaves are drawn every year, but they decide not to leave the root. Therefore, the annotations of Buddhist scriptures, such as the Diamond Sutra that Chinese people generally read and recite, have hundreds of annotations, each of which is different, but they are not separated from the fundamental meaning of the Diamond Prajna, which is also a difficult point in the interpretation of Buddhism.

We inherit the principles explained by the ancients, and from then on we understand them, and innovate them. You cannot use the past teachings. If you use the past teachings, it is equivalent to asking modern people to be ancient people. For Americans, not only do Americans be called Chinese, but also ancient Chinese. Therefore, the annotations must be innovated. Only when the 21st century is in line with the explanations of modern people will it be widely accepted by the public.

“Giving" means serving all the people with all their heart and strength.Use our financial resources, labor and wisdom to serve the people, society and all living beings.

“The meaning of keeping precepts is to abide by the law, and precepts are the law.Abide by the teachings of ancient sages and wise men, abide by the national constitution, laws and regulations, and abide by the customs and moral customs of each region and each ethnic group.Only by being in harmony with people from different regions, ethnic groups and religions, we can live in harmony and treat them equally.

“To endure humiliation is patience, to be patient with people, things, and things. If you are not good, you must be patient and slowly innovate it;Good deeds should be promoted patiently and slowly, and should not be too hasty. As the saying goes, "hazard will lead to failure."Not good, it’s not easy to change it as soon as possible! Not only can it not be changed, it will also produce many adverse side effects.OK, if you want to actively promote it, there will also be many obstacles. The more important the event is, the more patience you need. The Diamond Sutra says: "All dharmas are achieved through patience." Achievement depends on patience and patience.

If the conditions of the season are not ripe, enrich yourself and deeply cultivate your virtues, knowledge and abilities.Only when all causes and conditions are mature can we seize the opportunity to use our talents, help the public, and decide that there is no selfish thought, and everything is for sentient beings and for the Dharma.Buddhism is the teaching of enlightening all sentient beings;Buddha is enlightenment, Dharma is method, a method that helps all sentient beings realize, and is called Buddhism. The suffering of all sentient beings comes from confusion, and happiness comes from enlightenment.Happiness and happiness are the consequences, and awakening and ignorance are the factors. To get rid of suffering and happiness, one must break through ignorance and gain enlightenment.Breaking through ignorance and enlightenment requires teaching, and Buddhism is the teaching of wisdom and enlightenment. Many people now regard Buddhism as superstition. This is a wrong concept. This is because they do not understand Buddhism, so they misunderstand Buddhism.

“Dramatic progress means progress, and Confucianism says "new and new";Not only progress, but also pure progress, not chaotic progress, but orderly and organized. Therefore, Buddhism is not conservative or backward. Buddhism always stands at the forefront of the times and always leads the times toward the correct direction of light and wisdom.

“Meditation”, not being attached to appearances outside is called meditation, and not being moved inside is called concentration. The Diamond Sutra says: "Don't take it from appearance, it's still alive.""Not taking from appearances" means not being tempted by external conditions (wealth, sex, fame, food and sleep). This is Zen."Ru Ye is still" means that you do not have likes and dislikes in your heart, and you do not have the desire to be greedy when you see the good;Bad, there is no disgust. Always keep your mind pure and equal, and will definitely not have any thoughts or any temptations. As long as you are selfish, you will be tempted by the state of mind and will not be able to achieve meditation; You must give up selfishness in order to achieve success. The basic principle of "Vajra Prajna" is to stay away from the four aspects, "no self, no human form, no sentient being, no life form", and it is easy to practice meditation successfully. The paramita of meditation means that one has a master in one's heart, will not be tempted by external circumstances, will not be disturbed by troubles, and will never have any thoughts of right and wrong, self, greed, anger, ignorance and arrogance.

“Prajna Paramita" is wisdom, clear and clear about the inner and outer world, and not at all confused.

In life, work, dealing with people, no matter what identity or industry you are in, you are a Bodhisattva, and you are abiding by these six principles.
